North Dublin Beaches

#1 Post by Fecker2000 »

Hey lads,

I know I'll be shot for asking, but I'm new to the Portmarnock/Malahide area and looking for any info/tips on beach marks in the locality ? I took a look around Howth and Sutton, but it's pretty much all rock and cliff - not good with heights :). I've tried the Velvet Strand in Portmarnock a few times, but no luck and didn't see anybody else out there either! Any info at all much appreciated.

Also, thinking of joining a club. Again, any tips or smart remarks welcome :)

John.

You should start to get a few smooth hounds in Portmarnock during this month. Fish a rising tide at dusk with crab.

Flounder, the odd turbot, bass and smoothhound off donabate and portmarnock.

Fish an evening rising tide into darkness with crab and worm baits.
