fahan strand, lough swilly, co.donegal for thornbacks mate, a few other marks like kerrykeel etc all round donegal. dont really know of any more local to you that throw rays up consistantly

redox, basically aim to fish it over the low water at fahan if you can, 3down 3 up.

Have heard if you fish in woodstown waterford. Fish at very low tide ( a good walk out as this is a very shallow beach) , try to cast out to main channel and you might have a hope of a thornie

Thornbacks in Woodstown

Hi Daven,

have heard that too but never caught one.
A friend of mine had 1 from Tramore Strand (sandhills end) about 150 yards out trolling a piece of Mackarel behind the boat.

Said they were over a sandbar during the day.

Food for thought, never heard of them being taken on Tramore before!!
