Re: Bread paste
I'm guessing this is for mullet. I use old mack, mussel, or tins of cheap sea food, sardines, tuna or whatever else mushy and fishy you can get your hands on. Mash it up with bread crumb. Leave dry in a bucket and when you get to the mark, mix it with water and bring together into a paste. Carrying the dry mix and adding sea water when you arrive saves you dragging a heavy bucket of slop around. I'll sometimes add a few caps full of pilchard oil to the mix if i have it too.
Species 2014: whiting, coalie, pouting, codling, pollack, ballan wrasse, dab, poor cod, mackerel, grey gurnard, conger, ling, cuckoo wrasse, launce, common skate, bass, scad, garfish, blue shark
Species 2015: Ballan wrasse, poor cod, pollack, ling, flounder, turbot, mackerel, whiting, lsd, dab, grey gurnard, pouting, cuckoo wrasse, cod

Hi- what do you use for hookbait from that mixture? Also when do mullet feed most (i.e during a day) and when do they stop feeding seasonally? thanks in advance

(I have a shoal outside my house (westport) every night and have never had so much as a bite on bread) it's driving me knuts. I have hooked them before in cork harbour and from popes quay- (it stopped traffic!!)
