Drew,

I wouldnt have thought so? Ive had a few on deep slow spinners and if anything a jellyworm could be better if you get it right down there. I tend to fish spinners as they are handy (weight in the lure, no added weight needed)but they are expensive and I lose 2 or 3 nearly every time I go out.

The fish are few at present where I fish, had quite a few blanks but each fish is greatly appreciated when theyre scarce. Give it a bash, why not?
2013 Sea Species:- Bass, Flounder, 5 Beard Rockling, Shore Rockling, Whiting, red gurnard, grey gurnard, Pollack, coley, mackerel, sea trout, cant remember cos I didn't update at the time.....
2012 Sea species:- Pollack, Coley, Mackerel, Cod, Bass, Sea Trout, Haddock, Plaice, Dab, Flounder, Red Gurnard, Grey Gurnard, Pouting, Whiting, Corkwing Wrasse, Ballan Wrasse, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Brown Trout caught on beach.
2011 Sea species:- codling, L.S. dogfish, coley, whiting, pollack(4lb 3oz), sea trout, shore conger eel (15lb), ballan wrasse, grey gurnard, plaice, dab (and lobster).

Yeah you got 2 fine fish, think I recognise the mark. Ended up out in the boat fishing spinner and fly for pollack with 2 friends on Sunday. Got about 20 small coley between us and one of the other boys got the only pollack, a 1lb 6oz fish, at least we got 1 pollack, the day grew nastier as it went on, I might put up a wee report cos the fish is a lovely pale gold/green, almost turquoise, lovely colour. It had small sandeel in the gut, good to see sandeel appearing in their diets, summer on its way.

That'll be the serious predatory instinct kicking in again... I'm sure the Sandeel being around will get them up and feeding.... 8)
