Sea trout/Greystones question?
I was wondering was there seatrout present around the mouth of the stream that is on the south beach Greystones just past the golf course. I have a faint memeroy of reading it somewhere, most likely a post on the form but was at least 2 maybe even 3 years ago. Have I got it completely wrong??
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Re: Sea trout/Greystones question?
nope ,myself and shaneh fished it last week and spotted a few in the stream 6 inches long ,it was a mecca for seatrout years ago with up to 20 anglers along the south beach spinning their hearts out, but not exactly stuffed with them anymore
i,d say it will be a few weeks or so till you get any hanging around ,the end of the summer is when i see most fish jumping
have you ever tried the breaches between kilcoole and newcastle? its a 15 minute walk along the beach but has to be worth a go??

Re: Sea trout/Greystones question?
I was having a look on google map and noticed a larger stream turning into what looks like a bit of a lake down near kilcole, is that what your talking about. I have not fished these beaches in years. I was going to take out the flyrod and have a go for them as I am having no luck around the back of howth or dollymount where i usually do a bit of flyfishing.

Re: Sea trout/Greystones question?
I fished the breeches once some time early last year ,I think (well the doggies were around anyway), and saw a few sea trout jumping in close- around 6 or 8 over 3 hours up to darkness. As far as I remember the tide was on the way out at the time.....that is to say the river was emptying
