Hi ya Nialler, I’ve never fished Falcarragh but was down there last week doing a course and met up with a friend from down there and got him to show me a few marks for fishing as vie been onto him for ages to do a weekends fishing, there looks to be a lot of good marks but as has not an angler himself this was my guessing!!!Anyway from what I seen there a very long pier that looks to give good access to deep water, the whole length of it and out of the end also...it’s all sand out of it and it’s a beach the whole way inside the pier, behind the breakwater looked to be rock, id definitely have a go off the pier if the weather wasn’t suiting anywhere else it looks perfect for flounder, also there were no boats using the pier that day. Just out off falcarragh is an island called Inishbofin (we have one up here too!)Where my friend grew up which you can walk to at low tide (id ask a local just to be sure on the day!!)On the north facing shore there looks to be a lovely U shaped beach that I’m sure would fish if the weather played ball.....on the mainland just inside of the island on the north side is I think a 3mile long beach? Which he says that just out from it when they were young they fished turbot, there also a channel up along that shore that he says a few people from N.I come to fish sea trout every year...to be honest the place looks to be prime for fishing, my directions may not be great as vie only been down there once but hopefully of some help, let me know how you get on because I’m definitely going to do a day down there soon. Good fishing to ya!

There should be the odd thornie showing in the Mulroy by now. Try the slip north of Kerrykeel.

The flat rock past the pier at Portnablagh might be worth a go, but watch the sea conditions on there.

Me? I'm going trout fishing. :D
