cork day out 10/8/05 (Boat caught Guilt head bream)

Tide:[/b high /low/ high

[b]Weather:
excellent, no wind , bright sunshine calm seas

Bait:mackeral,

Rigs:shrimp rigs , spreader bars

Results: 9 guilt head bream,( poss new irish boat record, if verified by specimum commitee)) 2 turbot, plaice,dabs, whiting, cod, pouting, poor cod, haddock, cuckoo/ ballan wrasse, bass, lsd, scad, launce, red gurnard/grey gurnard, pollock



Report:
good day out with the benifit of a suprise catch of guilthead bream, had read about the posts from cunninger, and though to give it a try close inshore from a boat , and we struck rich.Average size 1lb, had 3 aound 1 3/4 lbs, great fighters)
great days fishing, cork area a great venue for different species to be caught all within 10 miles of the harbour.

Cracking day out mate.What rig did you catch the turbot with and what bait did you use as I have been trying for them with no success yet?

Hi,
just a long three hook flowing trace, with a delta spoon about 7 inches above the hook, plenty of beads etc, as for bait, just a sliver from the belly of a mackeral, about four inches long, keep your fingers crossed theres no whiting around!! they can be a pain.
