Would Kilcoole or Newcastle be any use for Codling,Coalies and flatfish this time of the year?

Just off to the left of the gate at the railway track at Kilcoole (back around 10 years ago when I was a competition shore angler)

I fished Five Mile a couple of weeks ago just to get out of the house for a few hours. It was daylight on a falling tide with a south westerly and I've rarely seen it as quiet. A Sea Scorpion was the only fish to touch a bait. Everything came back in almost as new as I cast it out. Now I've been fishing for 30 years and in that time the Wicklow beaches have always fished poorly at this time of year. It's always good to get out but I'd be keeping my expectations low for a few weeks yet.
