New Ross,area.
Hi lads, i have been invited to a pals place to do a bit of fishing, he lives about 5 miles downstream of new ross on the river barrow. Has anyone ever fished this area ? And any advise would be great.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Are you talking about fishing the Barrow or local sea fishing ?
I don't fish to catch fish. I just like using the gear.

Hi Kevin, what i was hoping to do is fish the river near my pals house, it is tidal and at low tide the mud flats are exposed to the channel.

Flatties, Codling and maybe whiting. Down at the Passage East Ferry, these are normal catches, and in Waterford, Flounder and Codling.
Good luck

Thanks Heath, will put out a couple of rods and see what happens. I gave my pal a loan of a light shore combo but he only got tormented by crabs on no bites. I also looks like a spot where a mullet might hang out but i didnt see it in summer. Thanks again. Fionn
