Not sure what you're doing wrong. Any cork beach i've been out on the past few couple weeks has turned up cod. Out on youghal beach Monday and we had a few decentish cod to razor and we reckon if we'd had some lug or crab we'd have had a good few more. We had 5 species to big razor baits as it was.
2019 Species (8): Whiting, Coalfish, Dogfish, Bass, Coalfish, Dab, Lesser Spined Sea Scorpion, 5 Bearded Rockling

The beaches are probably not going to fish too well at the moment with the calm conditions, but once there is a return to southwesterly winds then they should start to fire up again.
