If I were you I would have a look at the shakespear salt range of rods
A great line of rods at a very reasonable price
you could get a salt beach mx for the multi and a salt flattie or bass for the fixed spool both
rods together for around your budget
2011 species so far
coalfish,plaice,dab flounder,turbot,sea trout,thornback ray,pollock,ling,mackeral

One day.. Facebook, Youtube, Myspace and Friendster will come together as one. It will be called, FookYouMyFriend.

your post was moved by a moderator here because he found it was in the wrong section. You can find it now on: http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/bull ... 22&t=32040 - but you have to put up a few more posts to be able to access the 'for sale' section - talk about a catch 22 scenario

A few months back I bought a penn powerstix pro 13ft as a second rod and a rod for my wife to use, she doesn't like multipliers and I do so the penn fits our purpose, for use with either type of reel. The penn is a great rod I'd have no problems recommending it.

the shakespere salt fs 13ft is a great rod,i had one when i started out beach fishing and it out preformed more expensive rods i had bought, its rated 4-8oz and threw a 4oz no problems,it got passed on to al,of al and jordan fame, and he loved it,i have seen it priced recently at 59 sterling, well worth the buy in my opinion.

what f/s did you use with the salt and penn, might get a new one to go with the rod. Would the slosh or penn mag work well with either rod and what length would be best.
