frozen lug?

What is the best way to secure frozen lug to the hook
without it flying off the hook during the cast?
Any help would be great, thanks.

what i do is thread it on the hook and put a good bit of elastic round around it

Elastic thread. Tip with a piece of squid if necessary. Once it defrosts it can disintegrate very badly, so timing is everything.

The best way for frozen lug is to freeze it with hook and all.If you want to hold on to a lot of lugworms,cut of a tip of the head,push out the moist and salt them with a lot of salt,roll them in tissue or toiletpaper and store them in the freezer.Keep in mind,frozen or frozen/ salted lugs are very brittle. In my country (Holland) especially good for catching dab. Flounder,cod,whiting ,plaice and wrasse are the likely species.

let it defrost and keep it for a week in the shed then just tip it with a bit of squid or mac yummy

The more you defrost / refreeze these the better they get, after a few refreezings they should be tacky and have a liqourish texture, a great bait especialy for flatties.
