RAZER FISH ?
hi lads has anyone heard of slightly cooking razer fish to make them more tougher for hooking as mine seem to be very soft and unable to stay on hooks for any period of time or is this normal ?
I have not fished in two years hoping to change that this year with anything ?

Re: RAZER FISH ?
Placing them in near boiling water does seem to toughen them up especially the foot also aids removal from their shells. Plenty elastic thread is required though if you want them to last on the hook for any length of time.

Re: RAZER FISH ?
If you cooke it and then eat it yourself. Use bait elastic to hold any soft baits on.

RAZER FISH ?
I've used cooked razor to tip rag worm, alot easier to handle, but haven't yet caught with cooked razor alone, plenty of elastic will help though

Re: RAZER FISH ?
Bait elastic is the answer I use it to attach soft baits to the hook and it works grand.

Re: RAZER FISH ?
I find the best thing to do with them if you are not fishing them live is to put them in the sink (dont put the plug in) and pour a saucepan of boiling water over them. It kills them quickly and makes them a good hook bait without over cooking them.
The Truth is often stumbled upon by men, most of whom pick themselves up and hurry along as if nothing ever happened.
