In the wifes way

#1 Post by toughguy »

Having retired recently, I have started fishing from the rocks in wexford.I had great crack during the year and actually caught some mackerel, pollock and dogfish. Can some of you experienced fishermen out there please advise me of what fishing I can do during the winter months and what lures, bait etc I should use.I would like to continue fishing from the rocks...but dont know if there will be any fish there. Your advice would be much apreciated by me and my wife as she likes having me out from under her feet.....Thanks

If you make a couple more posts on this forum you will gain access to the catch reports section. There are alot of reports from wexford. This will give you a good idea where to fish and what you may catch.

I think you would be best off talking to some one who is from the area to see how it fishes. Chances are the usual baits rag, lug, mackerel and sand eel etc would be worth trying out.Best of luck

Thanks for the advice so far Gents, I have been fishing near Hook Head. I will try fishing anywhere to be honest and I have seen signposts in that area directing people to beaches where you can fish. Can fish be caught here during the winter months?? If so I would love to give it a go.
