Sending rods abroad

Has anybody sent a tube parcel with a rod inside (7Foot long) with a courier company to the likes of Spain, Germany etc i cant find one that charges an affordable price. Fedex where looking for 260euro :roll:

check with a couple of truck drivers i got a mate to pick up a 12ft surf board from france to ireland ok it took a week but i was in no panic and had no money for a courier
life tastes better through a pineapple

speices 2011 whiting ,flounder, cod , coalie,,shore rockling , LsD,pollock,mack ,dab turbot sea trout ,bull huss ,3 rockling , wrasse

egg and my face were in alignment

I've sent a 7' rod tube to the UK through An Post - as far as I can remember it cost around €25-30 with insurance and signature on delivery...

Try Parcel2go www.parcel2go.com/ie/
They are a parcel broker so should be a good bit cheaper than going direct to DHL/Fedex etc.
