P.P.P AND PD OFF!
propper pully problem
i used to use a large swivel on my pully rigs with large beads and was happy enough with my rigs, someone recommended the breakaway proper pully insisting it was the dogs danglys ,they do work very well exept on occasion,s my snood line is getting hooked up on the link used on the pully and usually ends up clipped inside it rendering the system useless
anyone else having similar problems????????

Re: P.P.P AND PD OFF!
Not one of their better plans.
Use a 10mm split ring instead of the twinlink

Re: P.P.P AND PD OFF!
Although I agree with the old swivel and bead method I was given a pack of these lads by Gordy and made some pulley's with them. I found them great and never lost a trace or had a problem with yet. I think the do da (technical term) protects the swivel when snagged. Still bewildered as to what else I'm supposed to do with them

Re: P.P.P AND PD OFF!
I too used the swivel (a size 4/0) but after a session or two the main body would get weak and the lead would head off to places unknown.
What you have there, I think, are a new type of 3 way swivel and again another new gimmick to rob money out of anglers pockets
These are the new "proper pulley" your leg and give me your money rigs

Re: P.P.P AND PD OFF!
another problem if you use beads with too small a hole is sand getting inside them between the rig body and the bead weekens the line and stops the rig running smoothly ,had one let go on me a few weeks ago ,keep your mates at a safe distance
will try the split ring donal although i think a swivel is the way forward
if you look at the rig diagram their is no swivel to the lead from the rig,in a surf the lead will roll about maybe another cause of my tangles

Re: P.P.P AND PD OFF!
Is that relay clip upside down? As far as the new 3 way swivels go you'd still need to crimp and possibly add beads to it so it's a waste of time. I've only had the problem with the proper pulley's a few times though and I'd still use them

Re: P.P.P AND PD OFF!
I tweaked the clips that came with the proper pulley kit.
I made up the rig first then put the clip in the vice and cut off the two end bits.
I look them out on sea trials over the last few days
and they seem to work fine with no tangles.

Roger
I use a Zip Slider instead of a Swivel for Pulley Rigs and find they work fine.
A bead eitherside of the Zip Boom and crimps behind the swivel to Snood and Lead link on the main body of the Rig.
