Are you thinking of fishing the Shannon estaury or do some freshwater fishing?

The estuary is fishing pretty well for bass and plaice. There is a nice spot about 3 miles south of Foynes. There is a small beach visible low to mid tide. I had a few fish there about 2 weeks ago on peeler and mackeral.

The crabs can be very annoying and be careful of the mud...

ASide from that the shannon is flooded very badly so pike fishing is out... few nice lakes in east clare that fish very well with plugs...

Good luck.
