cracks at base of rod guide feet

#1 Post by mickm »

hi all i was wondering could anyone tell me is it normal to get small cracks appearing on the coating where the rod guides are whipped on and does it affect the rod performance this has happened to me on two rods now neither of which were cheap and i am a bit worried that they ruined now

Its most probably just cracks in the varnish on top of the whippings, if so not a worry but you might want to put more varnish on to stop water soaking through
