Apparently red is the first colour to disappear once light penetrates water, but this doesn't happen until a depth of 30 feet supposedly. Read into it what you will but I personally don't believe line colour makes a difference, I use red amnesia because I think it looks nice on my rigs
I previously used clear amnesia and found no difference in my catch rates, can't comment on the black though I'm afraid.

Agree with that. Red is the first colour to disappear, which is why so many creatures of the deep are red, they're invisible to predators and prey.Shambo wrote:Apparently red is the first colour to disappear once light penetrates water, but this doesn't happen until a depth of 30 feet supposedly. I've used clear and black (so we've covered them all somewhere) and have noticed no difference between them. From that we can deduce there's no difference between them apart from the black I normally use looks far nicer than red on a rig (and clear looks rubbish on rigs)!

Re: "amnesia" clear,black or red?whats a diference?
Have used both clear and black. If using long snoods with a clear mono/flouro rig body and fishing in turbulent waters where snoods can get tangled/wrapped around the main rig, black amnesia snoods can make life a little easier on the untangling front
If fishing coloured waters, the snood colour doesn't matter a whole deal (IMO). If fishing clear, calm waters in daytime, I think the clear snoods have a slight advantage.
Haven't tried the red, so I've no opinion on that. Otherwise, amnesia is amnesia and it beats the socks off anything else out there for snoods (IMHO)
