Hi
Inside Streedagh Point has massive lugworm beds, never dug there but looks promising...

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...
2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

Re: New to Fishing
the part of streedagh near the carpark has damn all lug - there are loads of casts but an hours digging will barely get you 20 lug
maybe at lower water or other parts of that bay there might be more worms - but as some locals have told me it doesnt seem to be the case

Re: New to Fishing
Streedagh is disaster for digging lug. Loads of work for very little reward. Try the Strandhill side of Ballisodare bay. take the road between Strandhill and Ransboro and dig anywhere to your right. The best spots are just as the road turns inland. You'll see a little carpark, walk out in front of that and you'll be able to dig as much lug as you want. If your stuck drop me a pm and I'll give ya better directions.
