Donaghadee Pier Session

#1 Post by alankilpat »

Tried for a couple of hours on Donaghadee Pier on Saturday night. I had set up one rod baited with mackeral and squid and was setting up my second rod when the first gave a hard knock, followed by an even harder one, but then nothing. When I reeled it in, no fish, but the bait had been stripped off clean as a whistle. I thought that getting a good rattle like that so soon was a good sign, but it wasn't. I got a few more rattles, but all I managed to reel in was a tiny whiting and a large, very annoyed crab, who wouldn't let go of the bait and tried to take my fingers off into the bargain! As always, it was great to get a session in, but the lack of any half decent fish was worrying.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Sounds like Donaghadee alright mate.... 8)
It can be patchy enough at times... though I didn't have a bad session on it on the Friday night.

Keep at it mate.
