How are lads im going to do a bit of pier fishing on holidys over the next week or so and i wanted to use bait,
i was just wondering when i cast out do i let it hit the bottom or do i try diffirent depths?is it like fishing from a boat?

Hi mate, im a novice, but i would start with the float at different depths until you catch, or try bottom if no luck. Best to see what methods others are using.

hi trojan,
if you use a float you can search out the fish by setting your float at different depths, best done with a stop knot. other wise fish hard on the bottom, most people would use two rods, one out at distance usually with a pulley rig set up, and the other rod for medium distance to close in work rigged with a two or three hook flapper.
