Hi,

mainly for float fishing so i can gauge what depth fish are feeding at?

Re: Finding depths on rock marks
I have found the best way is to slide a lead on the line then fix float on the end. Cast out, wind down till float is tight to lead, then feed line off your reel a foot at a time until the float comes to the surface. The amount of line you let off the reel is the depth to the bottom.
Hope this helps

Re: Finding depths on rock marks
got a handy piece of kit last year for checking out new marks, finding gully's and checking depths type of ground and so on, and its a great wee kit, think i paid £55 for it, it also shows you the depth were the fish are feeding.
just cast it out and look at the handheld monitor. can read depths up to 120feet
i know i'm a tart
