Dylans Park (Dalkey)

#1 Post by Earlsie »

Dropped down to this mark yesterday to take a look as I had not fished it before and this place is easily the dirtiest mark I have ever had to fish, apart from the cans & bottles the place is awash with empty fishing rig packets \ lure boxes\ balls of line littered across the rocks,
If I am honest I felt a little embarrassed as the spot I was perched on had a lot of traffic with walkers and while I always pick-up after myself I felt guilty by association if you like.

It's disappointing to see what is probably one of the most scenic marks I have ever fished in this condition,

I use to fish there 4 years ago before it became popular for mackeral i gave up on it for the simple reason it got
far to busy and you couldent get a spot. All sorts fish it now and the mess they leave after them is sickening and there not
kids but grown men.Residents clean it on a regular basis leaving bags and bags of cans and filth at the entrance wall
but this has been happening for years and is unlikely to change unless something is done.

i fished this spot about three weeks ago,and it was fairly well kept i thought, the odd empty lure packet but u get that everywere, didnt see beer cans etc....

on a plus tho caught 2 doggies and a pollock, three weeks prior to that i caught a dog and a ling

its a lovely spot but its a shame about the fact it does get so packed

It should be gorgeous but some of the "anglers" that go there at 9 am with a bag of cans and a portable bbq to cook the wrasse on have turned me off the place. Hapilly I have found three other marks within 10 mins drive which they don't know about yet.
List 2010. fish

List 2011: less fish

2012: less fish again,

2013: even less fish.
