Where are the fish gone from cork

#1 Post by evan699 »

I had a scout around for mullet on monday night and tried a few of my usual spot but there was no sign of them. Tried last week too and had to drive for a few hours to numerous marks until we found them up river in aghada, but they weren't feeding. Had a go at the congers in monkstown last night and didn't get a nibble either. I've caught conger during the type of tides that we're having at the moment and during the same stage of the tide we fished last night. It was dull and overcast and we fished well into darkness and still nothing. Could this be due to all the rain over the last few weeks. If anyone has any ideas i'd love to hear them or if anyone is having any luck around the area i'd like to hear. Not looking for marks or info, just interested to know if anyone is getting a few fish around these areas.

Cheers,
Tight Lines,
Evan

I know it wouldn't help but i thought it would take more than that to put the congers off a nice juicy mackerel head.

Plenty of fish around Cork at the moment so I would say all the fresh water hammering down is putting fish off in your usual marks. Get yourself to a beach instead for a while till it settles again.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

As Pete says hit the beaches for best chance at the moment, way too much fresh in the harbour at the minute.Unfortunately be prepared to battle the weed but there are a few fish about for sure :D With the bigger tides on the way things will improve for sure.Do agree though fishing has been a bit slack but stick at it ,the tide will turn.
