North Bull

#1 Post by Budawanny »

I was on the North Bull at the weekend, saw a lot of fish milling about in an area of about 50m square bounded by the shoreline and the rocks of the wall. Some of these were in so clode they wouldn't have been much more than ankle deep! There were lots of swirls and plenty of fish jumping clear of the water. I am guessing that these were mullet, I've a couple of questions:

- Were they mullet and what had them so worked up? Feeding or turf war?
- Are they worth going after and what is the best way - guessing groundbait with breadflake for a bit then sneak a few hooks in?
- The South Bull was bristling with rods, must have been 50 people fishing off it, not a sinner on the North Bull though - is it a rubbish mark?

Cheers.

Most likely mullet, with the odd rogue bass in there maybe.

I'm not a mullet fisher so couldnt really help on tactics, but you sound right enough in your plan. I'm told that a bit of rag tail can be a useful ploy for them around that area though so maybe try that aswell.

Most likely mackie bashers on the south bull wall, with a few bait fishermen in amongst them.
