Hi all.
Looking to take shore/rock angling up as a hobby. Any good tackle shop that can point me in right direction? Any suggestions for good spots for shore/ rock fishing in dublin / wicklow area.
I have no sea angling exerience whatsoever.
Many Thanks

First of all don't spend a load of money when you are just starting off, i'm sure this will come later
if you like it.
Find a nice handy spot on a peir or beach and see how you get on before getting too worried
about species, marks and methods etc just enjoy it.
keep your rigs simple and bait too. Worm baits rag and lug will always catch, squid, makerel
sandeel etc are not always needed.
you will probably find you will meet other anglers and pick up bit of info along the way.

hya welcome to the site and this great hobby u just picked up, if ya live on the south side u could try talking to dave or one of the lads in southside angleing in cork street, they will look after in there and i know as i live across the road from them, they very good with advice and stuff like that as for marks theres quite a few u cud try in dublin apart from the howths and obviouse places theres poolbeg which is not bad but can be a bit of a tackle grabber for a novice, collimore is not bad either theres the pier or futher down theres the rocky areas, in wicklow theres numerous beaches and theres wicklow pier which is the cleanest ground that i know of, i never lost as much as a swivvel in that spot, or my newest area is kilcool shingle beach in wicklow theres also rocky areas there that i have yet to try, anyhow u will find ur way around, thats the enjoyable part of this learning the ropes so to speak, good luck and hope u get lots of species very quickly
