Re: razor searching
I know some guys do collect their own razors but only on specific tides i think they had done this sometime in April, i dont know when the next suitable time would be, try and locate beaches with razor shells on the beach and go on the next time the tide is at its lowest possilbly with an off shore wind helping to get the tide a bit lower.
As for actual locations i cannot help you, maybe someone can point you in the right direction!

Re: razor searching
when the tides out the razors leave little holes in the sand pour salt down the little holes or saltwater and the razor fish will come up to the surface. I think thats definetly a way to get em or go to to your local tackle shop

Re: razor searching
i collect them on the west coast ,has to be done on the low spring tides when you walk on an area holding razors you will see spurts of water coming out of their burrow as they try and burrow deeper after hearing your footsteps, their burrow is a keyhole shape hole hope this helps.I prefer to dig them as they are only a forkfull down most of the time.

Re: razor searching
if your looking to buy some they usually have them in the asian cash and carry on the tramore rd, only 2 mins from the kinsale roundabout. think its about €8.50 per kg.
