Re: braid line
Hi, i have bought 40lb braid for my daughters fixed spools before she uses her multipliers and it does the job. i also use 20lb braid for spinning and it is so much better that line, you feel everything. only problem i have is it gets into knots a few times. they say this is because of filling the spool to much, but it does it anyway.

Hi I've been using Berkley Fireline for years and no problems I also use it game fishing in Florida and its great. For casting i would only use it on fixed spool reels ie spinning reels as on multiplyiers it tends to dig in on itself and can lead to prob's.
Cheers Bill.

Re: braid line
I have always used Power Pro braid, and it has been fantastic, although this has been for freshwater fishing for pike. I usually go for 40-60lb for deadbaiting and up to 100lb when chucking really big jerk baits. Wet knot strength is great, and low stretch means you can feel everything, even at long range.
One thing, make sure you bulk out deep spools with cheap mono or you will be spending a small fortune on filling them. You will only need a max of about 150 yards of braid for most situations, unless you are a power caster
Cheers

Re: braid line
Power Pro here as well...80lb braid has the same dia as 20lb mono 'approx' ...options are colour (+ multi colour on the same spool-used for depth counting) , floating and sinking braid...use floating for spinning, beach and rock keeps the line well up in the water...but can be a pain when there is a lot of weed about...best luck

Re: braid line
Watch out when you're striking at bites with braid, especially if you're used to mono. Because there's no stretch, it's easy to rip the hook out of the fish's mouth. Lost one or two that way

Re: braid line
I'm a Spiderwire Code Red user myself, Personally use a Shocky John, if u don't you could really do damage to your fingers if u mess up a big thump.
and remember, if a sandeel so much as farts near your bait it'll look like a bite.
