How far north would u expect to catch smoothhound on the east coast?

Hi there,
I was thinking the same myself after reading a previous post .!! i live in north co dublin and would love to try for smoothhound if there was a any possiblity of catching them this far north!!

hile we are on the subject, how far west can you catch them.
One of my guests, who catches plenty of smoothies in the UK so knows what they look like, had one of 4.5lbs last year near Castletownbere and thought nothing of it so never even mentioned it till the end of his holiday.
Never heard of any others being caught but had a few good fish lost at the same venue so makes you wonder.
Live out on the beautiful Beara Peninsula. Always willing to assist visiting anglers.
