hi dan. we are just in the door from bangor. we fished the wee platform at the end of the eisenhower pier and the sea defences behind the same pier and only got 1 whiting each for 4 hours fishing    . not quite sure whats happened down that way lately :? :? :? i had a pretty poor result at donaghadee too during the week. seems those marks have went off the boil lately :| :| :|

Dan-the place that stands out in my mind would be Portrush. It would let you beach fish, rock fsh or fish from a pier. All marks are no further than ten minute walk from the train station. I havent fished either mark in over a year though, maybe someone could offer some insight into how it has been fishing.

If Portrush is too far away you could get the train to whitehead (just outside carrickfergus). I have heard good reports about the mark along the promenade. If you are fishing this mark- travel light as it is a good 20 - 30 min walk. Any questions just shout.
