Hi all
Wondering where id get trailer wheels, doing the berings and noticed the wheels are fairly rusted. About a 11inch diameter wheel 4 stud. wondering if anyone knows how much these cost and if you would get them from a breakers?
Cheers

Re: Trailer wheels
are they really that bad? depending on the amount of decay could you not give them a bang of a wire brush and coat with rust eater it kills off rust and then hammerite them if there beyond that try the breakers may be they might get a wheel to suit or try the makers of the trailer on line

Re: Trailer wheels
A lot will depend on the makers of the hubs/trailer. You could size your wheel (PCD etc.) and you might be lucky to find a match on some car. Maybe check your local tyre guy.
Watch the tyre ratings if you do get second hand gear. Trailer tyres can be much more highly rated due to the weights (more plys).
There's a good explanation of PCD here http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/Trailer-and-c ... 0003577694 . A quick search yielded popular rims quite cheaply in the UK (did not search further). http://www.westerntowing.co.uk/acatalog ... ts_P6.html
The common Indespension would be 4xM12 stud 139.7 PCD. but that is a 13.
If you do locate rims you might report back. I might get a pair myself!

Re: Trailer wheels
Nissan micra wheels fitted the older rollercoaster trailers although the size of the hole to fit onto your hub needs to be made 5mm wider(oxy/acet cut out) if ya get your hands on a good set paint them up and seal the joint with silicone between the 2 sections of the wheel. Its this spot that causes most rust probs...

Re: Trailer wheels
you cant get 11 inch rims must be 10 or 12 inch,if it is 10 inch its probably a mini rim if its 12 inch rim it could be from a number of different cars, have a look near the wheel stud holes there might be a stamp from the maker on it,if you could put up a photo of the rim i will see if i can tell what it is off
you could also check http://genfitt.ie/Products/Default.223.html a friend of mine makes trailers and gets most of the parts off them

Re: Trailer wheels
My trailer is indispension rollercoaster and I found caravan wheels are a perfect fit as spares.
