Torr Head???

took a look round torr head and some of the surrounding spots today when i was up the coast. looks like a brilliant place to try. one question though..

how do you actually fish at it? i parked up and went into the field on the right down towards the cove. but had to stop when i came to a cliff edge lol. only other way down i could see was over by the small pier down the dirt track but i think i seen a sign about private property etc.

any info the place would be much apreicated

if you park below the path up to the head you can walk through the gate towards the small pier turn to the left following the path towards the cliff edge you should be able to see the anchor point in the rock face for the salmon nets fish along this ledge or scramble on down the rocks further to the left ,good spot for pollack and wrasse .
if your more adventurous you can walk over the top of the hill past the disused lookout house follow the track down the field towards the point ,you can see a small island about 50yrds ofshore ,walk along the fence until you see a blue rope tied to a bar anchored in the cliff top ,use this to help you climb down the rock face, go out onto the island and spin of here for pollack ,its a brillant spot but really dangerous so be warned !!!! there been tope hooked from boats 200m offshore so you never know ,you might get lucky .

i love the dangerous place that it is its brill and spinnin with light tackle can be great fun aswell as a bit crazy at times

Super spot.
Have had Pollack to 9lb and witnessed a guy catching a 13lb one.
Whether you're using jellies or frozen Sandeel the only way to fish is deep and slow.
Gave up on the light tackle here after being smashed up too many times.
I now use a 9ft stalking rod with an Okuma Interceptor loaded with 30lb braid.
Not for the purists maybe,but no more Pollack swimming around with lengths of 15lb mono hanging from their mouths.
Give the place a shot, but take care .

excellent sounds good if a little dodgy lol.

maybe give it a go on sunday if i can persuade my mate to get out of bed.

i take it fishes best close to high tide or is it ok at low tide as well? also is there anything to watch out for as the tide comes in? wouldnt want to get stuck somewhere.
