The old Waterford Road used to fish very well for Codling and Bass...The name of the spot is called the Pink Rock.
It's always worth a try !!

The Pink Rock on the old Waterford road was very good over 10 years ago before it was dutch dredged and filled in on the Kilkenny side of the river to deepin it so as to allow ships to pass through without incident. Live beside the place. Current is very strong. Has not been as good but heard you can still catch enough of Bass there with Ragworm under the small bridge where they feed and tide is right. Alot of the time all I catch is bloody flounders & eel. Hate the things
