veals/daiwa lms eric vs fishaholic

#1 Post by eric »

People:me and fishaholic, joined by masterkeane later on

Duration:session 12-4pm session 6-10

Tide: guess

Weather: flat calm all day

Bait: many sorts

Rigs: read above

Results: flounders, dabs, turbots, plaice, huss, dogfish, whiting, codling, rockling and weaver

Report:

session 1- north wexford strand, my venue

well session 1 kicked off at 12, my venue, i was confident of a few flats, conditions we perfect. sent three lug,mac and maddie combos out about 60 yards and started praying. mark had a small flounder on his first. after a blank first cast i re casted out a little shorter and responded with a treble flounder. mark did the same on his next cast, i replied with a double, then mark had a single, as did i and so on, soon enough we where at 7 each. yours truley was in pole with one more counter. then the tide went out. not sure what happened to my peg but try as i may i could not buy a bite bar an odd weaver here or there. mean while 15 yards away mark the trawler ws regulary adding fish after fish, including a couple of cheeky turbots, nearly all the fish where undersize, with only 1 counter being added. so the punishment wasnt as severe as it could have been. second last cast i fluked a flounder. truth be known i was annihalated, mark had a 152 pts and i had 82pts, still all to play for though going into the next session.

session 2 marks venue- a wexford strand slighlty further south than mine

after a refueling session at the local chippy we hit marks venue, conditions where nigh on perfect again. it was expected to be a good oul fashioned doggie bash, after two fruitless casts targetting the lesser spotted reef sharks i went sratching with lug and mack baits, soon i had a counting dab, which was followed by a dog, which was followed by a plaice. jaysus maybe i had a chance. mark replied with a small plaice of his own. another whiting was added to my card and then the dogs came on. i hit a few singles and then had a double and after that to my surprisement what i thought was double dog turnt out to be an 80cm huss on a size 4 match hook  , when your lucks in! mark had a couple more dogs and some small whiting, as did i including a few nice dabs, a few weavers and some undersize pins. final score mark 224pts myself 449pts

final aggregate scores eric- 571pts
mark-371pts

pleasure fishing against mark, had me sweating till the last cast :D
