cahore 30/8/09

off da hook

Crew:myself, buddy gd,and rory my youngest son

Duration:9.30 till 5 pm

Tide:fast running tide

Weather:westery wind 15 to 19 mph snotty good swells

Bait:lug,mac,

Rigs:everything

Results:well 9 species tub and grey and red gurnard ,mac.pollock.common smoothound.codling.launce.dabs.
we started out in cahore looking out with white horses on it was rory my youngest son that wanted to get out with hols over and back to school tomorrow .we got macs half a mile out side of habour headed for tope but could not anchor drifting at 2.5 knots big swell had a few codling along with grey gurnard that was the plan for the day move drift fish .rory had the best gurnard of 2 lbs gd had plenty of macs and gurnard i has a smoothound on the drift along with a tub gurnard .we moved all around just drifting had a good time with rorys first day out and proud of the fact he fished hard and did not complain at any part of the day and in bad conditions gd picked up a dab on lug we all had a few codling i finished up with pollock no great size but another great day with my youngest watch out lads he is keen and intrested in the boat angling o the first pic is the wind blowing his hair

nice one willy and well done to your son you were certainly determined to get out yesterday how did you do on the shore? any bass?
