paddy's point to haulbowline

#1 Post by mawk »

hey guys, do any of you fish this area at all?

I live nearby but never actually fish there, ive gotten macks near the bridge and watch the mullet and occasional sea trout hopping but i have yet to try the beach. I presume there must be something worth catching as A: there is a mess of bait there and B:there is a load of tackle wrapped around the high tension lines, and some of the rigs are of decent build. At least I dont think useless marckerel bashers use clip down rigs..

So does anyone have any advice on the place?
Species? tides? rigs? bait? distances?
species 2010: whiting, cod, flounder, coalfish, short spined sea scorpion, pollack, herring, conger
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

thanks darren

did you actually catch the thorny from a height on the bridge or is it better to climb down towards the edge? and if so, which edge? spike island side or ringaskiddy side?

sorry for the badgering but i feel im probably wasting a great local mark with my ignorance
