Re: When does the Bass season end?
There's many a more experienced angler than me on this site, as I only started sea fishing march last year and it took me till late summer to get my first bass.
However I have caught them since with reasonable frequency, even through the winter.
Around Dublin and Wicklow, I'd say the small ones are around year long, but maybe the larger fish arrive in increased numbers april onwards.
I'm sure others will post their comments.

Leaving Cert eh? Ah, I remember those far off, happy days.......
Best thing to do is get your head down in the books, redo past papers and get good results. Then, instead of cash/holiday/whatever it is nowadays you young'uns get as a reward for a Leaving Cert, ask your folks to book you a day (or two, if you get Honours!) with Jim Hendrick down in Wexford.
He'll point out your first Bass to you.

Remember in the closed season your are not allowed to fish for Bass even if you are releasing them. If a fisheries officer is under the impression that you are targeting Bass you can be prosecuted under the Bass laws.
