Re: info for rossbeigh
I have holidayed for several years in rossbeigh and fished the beach and plugged (and first year fly fishing)to the left of the beach over the rocks and weed ( which looks very bassy) and fished the deep channel at the end of the beach with bait ..looking over at inch and the lagoon at the back.
I never caught a thing..... i dont know why....... but kells bay is a great pollack mark.....
Slow spun eels work a treat......(off the rocks to the right, not the pier)

Re: info for rossbeigh
I fished the beach at Rossbeigh a couple of weeks ago during a weekend visit to the in laws and had 5 sea trout to 2lb 2oz and a 1lb 10oz flounder in a 3.5 hour session. The trout should still be around in may and if spinning a medium sized silver lure retieved quickly works good. As for bottom fishing Thornback rays should be about along with dogfish , flounder and bass best bait sandeel or lugworm , tip lugworm with a strip of fresh mackerel. There are supposed to be turbot and plaice there but have never caught or seen one. Good luck.

Fishing Rossbeigh in may...............
Fish the first 150yds of the beach for flounder and small turbot , Thornback ray at distance
If there is a surf rolling in, plenty of bass at NIGHT.
For Sting-ray and good numbers of thornbacks and tope on the bigger tides fish up at the point
For bass and big flounders in daylight fish the estuary behind the beach (Crab needed)
