So I had intended to fish this beach the night before, but due to a broken lantern and only a weak headlamp, left it off , instead just passed some hours on liscannor pier, feeding the crabs.. Has anyone ever caught conger of this pier? Just wondering..
So today before heading back to dublin, thought I'd use the remaining bait on White strand..
setup 2 rods, same rig, lug on bottom, whole squid on top...
Didn;t even feel the flounder until I had him out of the surf.. But he was a nice fish, he took the whole squid bait on a 4/0!
Didn't get any other bites, and had to pack up to return home, the joys of work on monday morning...
Planning on returning in a few weeks to battle for Bass off the inagh estaury or Lahinch strand itself..

nice flounder , they never put up too much fight , ive had them to 3 lb and they just flap about when they are in close , up to then they feel like weed
That was White strand near Miltown malbay...
Dead bang in the middle of the beach, as it had the most sand for me to retreat onto from the encroaching sea

Lost a load of tackle trying to fish the left hand side of that beach on day due to a sailing class going on, did you ever try the white strand near to doonbeg, had some good results there but mainly in the autumn to winter time
Took a gander at doonbeg white strand and doughmore, but wasn;t sure where to go to avoid the reefs and rocks, so opted for the easy route-nice friendly beach
going to go back with lug/squid/capelin/razor this weekend, bag me a bass if it kills me..hopefully it won't though...
