Co. Limerick 22-march-2009

[
People:Me

Duration:9:15am till 12pm

Tide:09:03 (1.6m) 16:03 (4.0m)

Weather: Sun and cloud/ Moderate cold NW

Bait: Squid, sand eel and Refrozen mack,

Rigs:3/0 pulleys and 2/0 golds

Results: An 8lb ray

Report: Used mainly pulleys at the start with eel squid wraps but also mack squid wraps. Used mack squid on the golds. Caught the ray after half 10 on the top hook of the golds under 100 yards out. Bite was light with a bit of slack so left it and tightened back up and same thing happens again. Mainly used golds with mack squid after that. Nothing else to report but had a very small bite around half 11 probably whiting to a golds. I did cast a mackerel head out on a ledger with a half an hour to go as this is when conger room here but from last years fishing it’s bit early for them yet.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC
