Greystones, Steps

#1 Post by Cormdogg »

Me and my mate Steven the anti fish

Mack - Lug

Mini rigs, 2 hook clip ups, 3/3 hook flappers, flattie rigs

Wavy enough, dry

6.30 - 10

Whiting

Still on my hunt for a dab or any flattie, wanted to go to the rocks further towards the beach where the lads left the report the other day but my mate wanted to come along and the last two times he has we blanked and got one whiting so he wanted to go where "i knew" there was some fish. So we set up at the rocks, I set up one rod in close for him and two for myself. He brought his luck with him again. We got plenty of bites but no takes and this went on until 9 or so. The only highlights was my mate calling me over to tell me he was snagged and then hand me my reel in an absolute birds nest. Eventually I got a whiting, then he got one,his first fish, he was delighted and was roaring at me the get the hook out and get the fish back in the water, it was like an episode of 24! Got one more whiting then decided to pack up and go to the pub. Not a great session, first time I lost gear in Greystones, Had a crack off on one of my braid lines??????? Had various rigs out for flats, with lug I had in my fridge since Saturday, maybe it wasn't rank enough!

So Steven can take a break from accompanying me for a while and next time Im going to go down on the rocks and maybe leave out some lug till they really stink.
