Ennereilly 25/11/08

#1 Post by diego »

People: me

Duration: 19.30 to 23.30

Tide: High Tide @ 19.30

Weather: Windy with some drizzle rain

Bait: Rag and Lug

Rigs: 2 hooks rig

Results: 5 whiting, 1 rockling and 2 small bass

Report:

I decided to go to back to Ennereilly after the nice session that I had on Saturday (30+ whiting, 1 rockling, 1 dab and 3 dog fish) [Even caught three whiting with two hooks  ].

The first fish of the night was a small bass; it looked like a promising night :) (I was wrong).
After the bass I caught a whiting and a rockling; after a few minutes another bass and two whiting... happy days.
At around 21.00 the fish stopped biting, I only caught two more whiting.
At 23.30 I called it a day, I packed my stuff and go home.

A note about Saturday:
On the way home from Ennereilly I got stopped by the Garda, there was a check point near the football pitch in Arklow.
They breathalyzed me (0%). It was the first time that I was doing this test
On the way to Woodenbridge (5 min away from Arklow) I saw some blue lights on the distance, I thought that there was a car accident. It was another Garda check point and guess what.... they breathalyzed me once more
I told the officer that there was another check point down the road and he told me that he was not aware of that.

Good job on the two bass, even if they were small.

Had a similar experience with the whiting and dogfish in ennereilly - two on the same hook.

People keep asking if there is any codling down at Ennereilly. Any wonder the cops are breathalyzing in the area....:)

nice to see the boys in blue bagging drivers, with driving alot in the small hours of the morning i,m sure most anglers would agree they dont want to meet a sloshed driver in a head on :!: i,d say the morning checkpoints will be up and running shortly 8)
