Big Flatties South Dublin - Greystones ?

#1 Post by stevo74 »

All,
Being fishing this area the last few weeks and haven't got a flattie bigger than 15 cm.
Do flatties prefer low tide or just come out at night? Any tips welcome. prob gonna head to greystones again tommorrow on my Bass quest, but would be happy to bring home a few decent size flatties.

if anything the flats prefer the fill - plaice seem more like a daytime hunter - whereas flounder/dab numbers seem greater at night - the turbos are somewhere between the two

dont be afraid to put a lump of mack on a 2/0 youll get the bigger flounder - for that matter a 6/0 and a mack head will probably get you a 25cm turbot
