Beara Peninsula West Cork

#1 Post by mann »

The plan for this Christmas day is to fish a few marks on the Beara peninsula west cork.. This will be my first time in the area and if anyone might be able to tell me what species will be around at that time of year it would be of great help,

Cheer's.

Not much winter fishing goes on down here so not really sure what the fishing will be like. If the weather stays mild should still be pollack and wrasse about, had pollack to 5 and wrasse to over 5 today spinning sandeel. Spinning for bass should definately be OK but not sure about the bottom fishing.
Give me a call (027 60330) closer the date and i will give you an update on how it is fishing.
Live out on the beautiful Beara Peninsula. Always willing to assist visiting anglers.

Thanks for the reply Paul,

Just to hear that fish might be caught was great news but to hear that I may have the chance to catch a Bass made me phone a friend ( Dulittle ) to see if hearing that would make up his mind to come with me again this year… and I think it has pushed the right button,

A day or so ago I sent you an email to the address below to explain a little about the help I needed about species that may be there at that time of year… there’s a very good chance that I may have messed up when sending it but not to worry at least you seen this and that has made my day as you are right in the middle of the area I want to visit and from what I have read you know your area very well,

dromagowlanehouse@eircom.net dromagowlanehouse@eircom.net

This started off with me just looking for a new place to fish this year but the more I find out about the place the more I like it.. I wont be able to see and do everything I want in the short time that I will be there but I will return again in the summer to pick up where I left off,

Paul I look forward to chatting with you a little nearer the day and thanks again for the reply.

Mike.
