Fished Masters over weekend.Weather fine, if not too fine!!! 84 anglers fished.
Saturday boats fished east of the Cork Bouy and off Power Head. Some tried the Daunt Rock but not for long.
Sunday boats were more spread out but fished the same areas.

Fishing was dominated by poor cod, given that there was 10 points for "other species" of which it was one. Therefore it was important to gain your 10 limit to secure 100 points plus another 11 species points.Whiting showed well on some boats as did congers.Pollack were scarce at the Cork Bouy/Smiths but a bit more plentiful down east.Tide was slack on both days and because of wind direction, especially Sunday the boats "hung" awkwardly which made it difficult for some.

Overall, a well run competition with a good share of fish, but unfortunate to see so many poor cod killed needlessly.

Well done to the prize winners and to all who took part.
