Humminbird Smartcast

#1 Post by dillon_the_rabbit »

Morning all

I recently ordered a new fish finder for my boat, but the website I ordered from screwed up and sent me one of the wireless smart cast fish finders instead. I noted that these sell for about 120 euro more than I paid. I am wondering whether to keep it, considering the price difference. Have any of you used one of these? If so are they much good, or is it all a load of crap?

Cheers
Matt

Whether you find a Smartcast useful depends on what you expect from it. It shows the depth. But don't expect much after that.

Say you want to see fish and see the difference between fish and weeds then a Smartcast is not useful since not enough information is displayed.
For more than depth it is necessary to use a narrower beam, and more pixels on the display screen than the Smartcast has.

Hope this helps decide.
