Jim / Sean, you can bet she will be heading west or south west during the summer. I will let you guys know if I'm in the area and we can get out together.
Thanks again boys, She'll see Waterford that's for Sure Paul so I'll be giving you a call before I go.
I'll give you a call later Adam, the engine is a Mercury 60Hp 4 Stroke EFI
Was looking hard a a few second hand warriors, but I got this new for what some people are looking for a 3 year old warrior, and by all accounts there is not too much between them, although I'm sure some will disagree
I'm picking her up March 2nd so if you want to pop over for a look your more that welcome.
Dingle at that time of the year.... Count me in man.... I'll be there for sure.
ps, Its going to be a bugger fluff chucking during the mayfly off her

I have the same setup - and am approaching my third (already?) season in the Raider. I'm very happy with mine, and I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised by the fuel consumption of the 60 EFI on the 16. I was out from DL Sunday before last and headed out to the Codling and East Codling bouys. I did 58 miles that day, nothing less than 5,000 rpm the whole way there and back, 2 up plus all gear and spare 22 ltr and 12 ltr tanks. By the time I stopped at Bray Head on the way back, I still had fuel left in the first 25 ltr tank. I might just have done the whole trip on that first tank, but I swapped over before continuing back to port. Cruising at 4,000 rpm - around 17-18kts, would have given even better mileage.
I find mine a real doddle to launch and retrieve single-handedly, and it is very comfortable in a chop.
It does not seem to porpoise, have a list problem (unless you're up forward) or have water ingress through the anchor locker, unlike some examples of another admirable and reputable but more expensive 16 ft angling boat!
I didn't notice from the photo if you have an aux bracket, but McAleese put one on for me, but it doesn't suit the boat - look at the Raider site for the better set-up. It would need a long shaft, not the short shaft supplied to me by McAleese.
Actually, I have a problem with the Aux, the steering friction doesn't work. McAleese advised me to lock the aux straight ahead with the friction screw, but Mercury says it's not designed to lock, and now it doesn't.
The aux is actually a bit of a millstone, to be honest - it's a pain to get on and off the boat and in and out of the car - mine is not even run in properly but has numerous paint chips already. I have it so feel the need to use it, "just in case", but the truth is that a new modern fuel-injected outboard is extremely reliable, and many people's view is that the money would be better spent on regular servicing of the main.
Speaking of which, I found McAleese rather expensive, and got it serviced at Viking.
If you would like to discuss other aspects of the Radier 16/60 EFI, let me know. In any event, enjoy the boat and land some good fish!
