At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!
i think you should be using line diameter moreso than breaking strain. a .35 line diameter is what those in the know recommend (to me anyway) for shore casting. correct me if i'm wrong on this one folks
Thats what i thought!!! Checked again - Grauvell Teklon Gold - 17.8lb = 0.25mm - 23.3lb = 0.30 - 31.7lb = 0.35 etc. On sale from Gerrys of Morecambe at £10 for 300 metres (Sea Angler Magazine Jan) - anyone tried it?
I've heard of the Grauvell Teklon Gold. Grauvell reccomment that you stick to a line diameter close to the one you already use. The Teklon comes into it's own when you are looking for distance but still need a strong line....ie huss fishing at range. This way you can stick with 0.31 or 0.35 and be getting much more breaking strain. 0.22 and a 5 oz is birdie city guys For the 6500 stick to between 0.31 and 0.35 and you won't go far wrong. 0.35 is ideal. I can highly recommend Sufix Tritainium... really nice line to cast. nice and supple and lays well on the reel.
