fish identification

since i am new to this sport shore fishing that is
i found this handy link with pictures of most of the shore fish we would catch.

also there are handy cooking tips
Can any of you lads tell me how big a bait should i use when fishing from the beach ; how many lug would you put on a hook two inches long or four
